Wilbert A. Daniels, Jr., 84, formerly of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital of Victorian Village after a courageous battle with kidney disease. Wilbert was born January 28, 1927 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired employee of Gold Seal Dairy in New Orleans. After retirement, he enjoyed working as a movie extra as well as volunteering with the New Orleans Board of Elections. His father Wilbert A. Daniels, Sr., mother Myrtle Dupree Daniels, and brother-in-law Stephen Joseph, Jr., preceded Wilbert in death. He is survived by his loving sister Dorothy Daniels Joseph; niece Cheryl Joseph Latimer, both of Columbus, Ohio; nephew Michael A. (Lorraine) Joseph of Akron, Ohio; great nieces and nephews, Keya Crenshaw, Stephen Latimer, Samuel Joseph, and Lauren Joseph; special cousins, Ruby S. Downs, Veronica Downs-Dorsey (Wardell), and Veronique Dorsey; and a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long Street, where the family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the start of service. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
