Wayne McLoy Allen Sr. of Columbus, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on September 21, 2026, following a short illness.

Wayne was born July 22, 1964 in St. Albans, West Virginia. He was a member of Southfield Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio, where his faith in God was an important part of his life.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father Horace Allen, his mother Anna C. “Nanny” Johnson, his brothers Ronald, Jerry “Tank” Cortessa “Troy,” and his sisters Cheryl and Tina.

Wayne leaves to cherish his memory his loved ones including Anita Allen, his daughter Victoria L. Ranson (Darnell); his sons, Wayne M. Allen Jr. (Camille) and Donald R. Thomas; and Godson Terry W. Fisher Jr., all of Columbus, Ohio.

Also survived by his sisters Jennifer “Sissy” (Theodore) King Jr. and Claudia Walton; his brothers Claude Allen, Christopher Allen, and Bruce Smith; 17 grandchildren, Paisean, Darion, Dezara, De’Mero, Caleb, Joshua, Kylen, Naomi, Amiya, Destiny, D’Andre, Donita, Dayanna, Donyelle, Dravion, Donald Jr., Zoey; 3 great-grandchildren, Akyra, Caityln, D’Andre Jr.

Wayne was a graduate of St. Albans High School in West Virginia, where he excelled in both football and track. Throughout his working life, Wayne was employed by OCN for many years, and also worked at the Ohio Historic Society. He later retired from Columbus City Schools, where he primarily worked at Crestview Middle School for 15 years.

Wayne loved God and treasured his family. His favorite scripture was Psalm 23, which he was known to quote during family gatherings. His family were a lasting part of who he was.

Wayne attended Columbus State Community College and earned a certificate in security.

Wayne will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His memory will continue to live on through the many lives he touched and the family he leaves behind.
