Vincent Carl Wilson

July 15, 1950 — June 26, 2025

Columbus

Vincent Carl Wilson was born in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday, July 15, 1950. He was the son of Ruben and Mattie (Wilkie) Wilson. Vincent attended South High School and later answered the call to serve in the United States Marine Corps. He earned his GED during his military service. A proud and honorably discharged veteran, Vincent cherished his time in the Marines. After returning home, he dedicated nineteen years to Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Company, retiring with pride in his work ethic and commitment.

A true fan at heart, Vincent cheered passionately for The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cincinnati Reds. He was the life of every family gathering, lighting the room with his sense of fun, joy, and love. Vincent also enjoyed fishing with his brother from another mother, Freddie Lott.

Blessed with seventy-four years of life, our beloved Vincent C. Wilson entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at his home, surrounded by loving family. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Renée Cannon and Geraldine Chandler; grandson, Micheal Streets; brothers, Howard Pete Wilson and DeMarco “Boo-Boo” Saunders; his mother, Mattie Strong; and father, Ruben Wilson.

Vincent’s life was defined by love, laughter, and togetherness. He was a devoted husband of forty-eight years to Francine Wilson, a beloved father to Karla (Galen) Gibbs, Mattie (Arshenda) Street, and Levon (Kenda) Alexander; a proud grandfather to Cheniqua “Puddin” Jones, Shavonna “Little One” Boyd, Kandalyn (Dwayne) Robinson, and Brenna Cannon. Vincent is also survived by his sisters, Joyce Taylor, Gail Saunders, and Robin Braxton; brothers, Gerald Boaze and Michael Saunders; as well as a wide circle of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and dear friends.
