Sheryl Ann Johnson

Sheryl A. Johnson, 64, of Columbus, OH, departed this life on April 4, 2025. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, on August 28, 1960, to the late Henry Lee Butler and Dorothy Mae Latham Butler. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Lee Butler, and her sister, Beverly Latham.

Sheryl is survived by her loving husband, Dale M. Johnson; her daughter, Kiara S. Johnson; her son, Kejuan D. Johnson (Kayla Ruffin); her mother, Dorothy Butler; her sister, Nancy Butler; her brother, Gregory Latham; and three granddogs, Simba, Cleo, and Cairo.

Sheryl was a founding member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, which was started by her uncle, the Reverend Frank Latham. She graduated from East High School and earned an Associate Degree. She retired from Franklin County Job and Family Services after 31 years of faithful service. Sheryl was always involved in her children’s activities from elementary school through college, and she was the “community mom” to so many. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, shopping, watching her soap operas, and talking on the phone.

Sheryl leaves to mourn her passing her mother-in-law, Carolyn Johnson; her mother-in-law, Sadie Harris; her brothers-in-law, Jeff (Heidi) Harris, Jay (Rachelle) Harris; and her sister-in-law, Brooke Harris; her best friends Tara Williams; Pam McCauley, Kim Clemmons, Denise Dickerson; Debra Bowman; Tony Richardson; Fred Wade, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
