Obituary

Sandra (Sandy) Lucile Craig was born in Richmond, Indiana, on March 20, 1941, to parents Samuel L. and Lucille Goodson. She departed this life on May 6, 2026. She was the last remaining of six children affectionately known as “The Goodson Girls”. She attended Christ Tabernacle Apostolic Church in Richmond. She was saved at an early age and was very active in the church.

Sandy attended Richmond Community Schools and graduated from Richmond High School. She began working at Belden Wire and Cable until the time of her marriage to Stanley Craig of Columbus, Ohio. Their union was blessed with their son, Jeffrey A. Craig. Sandy was employed by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and retired from there after many years of employment. In addition, she worked for Craig Realty, Merck Pharmaceuticals, and Comfort Keepers Home Healthcare. She was also involved in The Christian Jewels, a cotillion group that helped young ladies and young men make their debut in
Christian society.

Sandy retired from the Ohio EPA to become a full-time guardian of Jana Browning. She raised Jana as her daughter from infancy throughout the remainder of the years that she was physically able to. Sandy loved her family very much and would often travel to Richmond to help take care of her mother and spend time with the rest of her sisters, nieces, and nephews. She loved attending church conventions with them. Her love for traveling and for gardening was very important to
her. She kept her yard immaculate. Sandy had a great sense of fashion and would often wear hats to match her many church outfits. She modeled in many fashion shows. She was a fantastic cook and was a family favorite for her meals.

Sandy leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted daughter, Jana Browning, her grandson, Ridge V. Craig, her cousins, her many nieces and nephews, and many longtime friends. Her notable friends are Robert Gengerelly, Phil, and Julie Hart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Goodson and Lucille Goodson-King, her sisters, Martha Ann (Harold) Sawyer, Wanda Jean (James) Stevens, Patricia Louise Browning, Etha (Reecie) Clarice Baker, and Delores Joan Goodson, and her son, Jeffrey Alan Craig.

Sandy will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
