Sixty-five years ago, in Memphis, Tennessee, John Thomas and Jennie Everett were blessed with their youngest child - a sweet baby girl they named Sadie. As a young girl, Sadie moved with her mother to Columbus, Ohio. They both attended Metropolitan Baptist Church where Sadie later gave her life to Christ. After several years of service at Metropolitan Baptist and an instrument in their choir, she followed her heart to Greater Vision Missionary Baptist Church where she continued to honor the Lord with her voice and her spirit. Continuing to use her God blessed gifts (her voice), she along with her sisters, Lorie Rouqemore and Jean McCoy, and niece Gina Wiggs, formed the Spiritual Voices. Together, they blessed all within ear shot with the gospel sounds of praise. Through her ministry, she shared her legacy of love for the Lord. She served faithfully until her illness. While battling her illness, she dedicated her balloon and gift business to her mother and named it Jennie's Creations. Sadie sprinkled love and smiles with her unique creations and balloon displays. She blessed everything she touched while continuing to maintain the position of the financial treasury of the Spiritual Voices for eight years. Fate caused the hearts of Charles L. King from Greensboro, Alabama and Sadie Everett of Memphis, Tennessee to cross. The couple dated and eventually married in Columbus, Ohio in July of 1983. From this union, they had three beautiful children. Sadie's faith in God allowed her to fight a courageous fight until she was finally called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 3, 2016. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William and Freddie Everett, and a sister, Addie Everett-Love. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband Charles L. King; sons, John (Monica) Peck and Jonathan King; daughter Stacie Peck; sisters, Orcean (Sutton) Richards, Lorie (Eddie) Roquemore, and Jean (John) McCoy, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Jay Peck, Shaniquia Peck, De'Von Peck, Cydney Love, Sabrina Peck, Jayvon Craig, Nandi Bridges, Tanaisa Anderson, Naryhea Peck, and Eden Garman; great grandchildren, Shariyah Peck, Journee Peck, and Brien Turner, Jr.; special cousin Dorothy Brown; special friend Joyce Radden; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
