Roland D. Hayes

Roland Daniel Hayes, born July 15, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his hometown on September 2, 2025, at the age of 76. Roland was a devoted son to his parents, Fiery W. Hayes Sr. and Rosetta Jones, both of whom preceded him in death. His beloved wife, Trina Hayes, also preceded him in passing.

Roland proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 12 years, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him. After his honorable discharge, he dedicated many years of service to Cappy Brothers, where he was a valued and trusted employee.

He leaves behind a loving family: his children, Yolanda Hayes and Ronald Hayes, both from a previous marriage; his brothers, Albert (Teresa) Hayes and Fiery W. Hayes Jr.; and his cherished nieces, Sarah (Joe) Brooks, Carolyn (Raymond) Dotson, and Rosetta Jane Thompson. Roland was also a devoted grandfather to Riley Brooks, Lakeycha Thompson, Mary (Shawn Harris) Tasha, David Hayes, Chaz Hayes, Rosetta Christine Hayes, and Johnithan Taylor.

Roland is preceded in death by his nephews, Fiery W. Hayes III and James Edwin. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his honorable service to his country, and the warmth and kindness he shared with everyone he met.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a Funeral Service immediately following 3:00 pm at Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Service, 1370 East Main Street, Columbus, Ohio 43205.
