It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Roger on March 24, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio.

Roger was born in Warren, Ohio, and resided in Cleveland for many years. He was a graduate of Case Western Reserve University, where he played football and baseball. In 1956, he graduated from the Case Western School of Dental Medicine and set up a private dental practice in Cleveland. He was a gentle and caring dentist in the Cleveland area for many years. His Legacy, which will continue to guide us, was his work beyond his retirement from his private practice. He cherished his contingent work with Mobile Dentist, a mobile dental outreach clinic that traveled throughout designated counties in Ohio, providing dental service, treatment, and education to underserved children in schools. Roger was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the Ohio Black Dental Society, the Contemporary Band of Cleveland, and the “Quarter A Piece Fishermen” group. Roger was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. An accomplished musician and friend. He lived a life defined by integrity, service, and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. Roger was very proud of the community in Columbus, Ohio, that we’ve called home for 25 years. He enjoyed our dog “Izzy” for 7 years of her life, sitting on the porch and giving treats to our community's beloved dogs, and talking to neighbors. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 34 years, Maxine; his children Roger L. Bryant, Jr. (Celeste), Sharon Bryant, John Bryant of Cleveland, and Arnold Bryant (Towanda) of Arnold, Maryland; Beloved grandchildren; step-children Howard and Angela Bush, Charlotte, North Carolina, and “adoptive” sisters, Carol Cambridger and Debbie Bryant-Williams.

A private memorial service is being planned in Cleveland, Ohio.
