Robert Israel Jr

Robert Bud Israel, Jr., age 68, died November 14, 2012, at home after a short battle with lung cancer. Bud was born August 30, 1944 in Pulaski County, Georgia to Eula Mae and Robert Israel, Sr. He married Maggie Ruth Jenkins in October 1962, who passed away unexpectedly on March 26, 2012. They were married 49 years. Bud moved to Columbus in 1964 to work for Roger Berlin Builders, where he helped build and maintain many houses, apartments, office buildings and warehouses for the next 48 years. He will be missed greatly by fellow employees, business associates and tenants of Roundtree Rentals and Management Plus for his kindness and helpful nature. He was predeceased by his parents and wife. He is survived by his brothers, Arthur Lee Israel, Joe Israel; sisters, Rosa Ella Isaac, Louela, Vera Mae, Ethel Deloris, Lorine Baker, Dorthy Louise Moses; sons, Curtis Israel, Steve Birch; daughter, Mary Pennaman; sister-in-law, Cornelia Francis Shellow; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special friends, Dave Purdie, Gloria Hill, The Berlin Family, special nephews Alvin and Marvin Jones. Bud was a very special individual with a beautiful smile that everyone recognized and loved. Bud spent his entire life looking out for others and opening his home to his family and friends. Bud was an individual with tremendous common sense and a great sense of humor. His guidance and love he provided will be missed by those that knew him well.
