Rev. Benjamin Forte Sr

Rev. Benjamin H. L. Forte, Sr., age 83, departed this life on Friday, January 13, 2012 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Born on September 6, 1928 in Grindstone, PA, he was predeceased by his parents, Cleveland and Ida Lee Forte. He served as the assistant pastor of Jerusalem Baptist Church and New Fellowship Church. and was a member of New Genesis Baptist Church and the Baptist Ministerial Alliance. He had attended Southern Baptist Bible College, and was a retired postal employee. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Mildred Forte; children, Beatrice (Sylvester) Edwards, of Thomaston, AL; Major Jeanie Forte, of Goldsboro, NC; Mildred (David) Thomas, of Columbus, OH; Benjamin (Joyce) Forte, Jr., of Durham, NC; Evangelist Benzetta Forte, of Columbus, OH; Dytanion (Marcelyn) Forte, of Columbus, OH. ; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, a step-brother, Frank Applebee, of New Kensington, PA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
