Queen Esther Crawford was born on August 2, 1925, in Fort Lawn, South Carolina, to John Craine and Hattie Huff Craine. She peacefully departed this life on September 14, 2025, at the blessed age of 100 years. She was the last surviving member of the Craine family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sam Crawford, Sr., her son, Ellihue Crawford, and her daughter, Rosa A. Crawford.
She leaves her children to cherish her memory: Janie Robinson, Shirley Crawford, Idella Crawford, Sam Crawford, Jr. (Lucinda Crawford), Lee Crawford (Linda Crawford), Mattie Lewis (James Lewis), Hable Crawford, Lillie M. Banks, and Kenny Crawford (Elder Wanda Crawford). She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends who will forever treasure her love, strength, and wisdom.
Queen Esther’s life was a testimony of faith, resilience, and devotion to family. Her legacy will live on through the generations she nurtured and inspired.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am with a Funeral Service immediately following at Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Home 1370 East Main Street Columbus, Ohio 43205. Burial will process to East Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
