Mazella Thorpe
February 4, 1924 — June 30, 2018
The gentle spirit of Mazella Thorpe, age 94, passed away June 30, 2018. Mazella was a loving and caring wife to the late John William Thorpe, “JW”. She was a faithful member of Refuge Missionary Baptist Church with a very caring Pastor, Rev. Kaiser W. Jones, Jr. and supportive wife, First Lady Hilda Jones. Mazella was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Mary Barbee; husband John W. Thorpe; and sisters, Ruby Washington and Lucy Asborn. Survived by her dedicated and loving son, William Thorpe; sister, Pearle Poole; brother-in-law, Clarence Rogers; grandchildren, Lynetta (Clark) Stonewall, Rhonda (Lester) Howard, William Jr. "BJ" Thorpe, and Keith Franks; 10 great grandchildren; special niece Betty Hopkins and special nephew Ronald Bryant; along with a host of loving relatives and good friends.
