Mary Elizabeth Duff, age, 96 peacefully transitioned this life on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Riverview Nursing Home. Born January 16, 1930 in Barboursville, Kentucky. Mary was affectionally known to her family as “Sister” being the only girl of four brothers.

Mary moved to Columbus, Ohio in her early teens and graduated from West High School in 1948. She married the love of her life, Patterson Duff in 1957. Together they were dedicated members of Gospel Tabernacle United Holy Church.

Mary was the beloved mother of 3 beautiful children and a nurturer to many others. She was a homemaker and enjoyed the simple things in life like playing the piano, singing, listening to music, going to the movies and most importantly caring for her family.

Mary was known for being a woman of strong character which made her a cherished wife, mother and friend. Her support and affection knew no bounds. We’ll remember Mary for her kindness, wisdom and the love that she shared for all. Though Mary may no longer be with us her spirit lives forever in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Roscoe and Delora Cole, brothers: Bruce Winston Cole, Eston Eugene Cole, William Douglass Cole and Morris Edward Cole sons: William Dwayne Bell and James McNeal Bell. She leaves to cherish her memories daughter Sandra (Troy) Byers, grandson Kenyatta Granderson, sister-in-law Theodosia Cole and a host of family and friends.

Friends will be received for Visitation at Gospel Tabernacle Church at 1205 Hildreth Ave Columbus, Ohio 43203 on Friday, April 10th, 2026 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am . Services will be held at Gospel Tabernacle Church at 10:00 am on Friday, April 10th, 2026 until 11:00 am followed immediately by interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.
