In Loving Memory of Marvina Ray Johnson

Marvina Ray Johnson was born on June 1, 1945 to her loving parents, James and Glardine (Rogers) Harrell. Throughout her life, Marvina was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, family member, and friend. Her love, strength, and presence touched the lives of many and created memories that will be cherished for generations.

Marvina was the loving mother of James Snow (Tresa), Vincent Johnson, Zarak Johnson, Sanobia Johnson (Marcus), Timba Johnson, and Joseph Gilbert (Erin).

She was also a proud and loving grandmother to Dorian Coleman, Natasha Williams (Timothy), Michael Allen, Elisha Martin, Kevin Snow (Heather), Dominique Franks (Mike) Porscha Snow, Zack Stewart, Tiffany Snow, and Brittney Snow. Her family continued to grow with the blessing of 14 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Marvina dedicated 25 years of faithful service before retiring from The Ohio State University. Her many years of hard work reflected the dedication, strength, perseverance, and determination she carried throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by many beloved family members, including parents James Harrell (Vira) and Glardine (Rogers) Carr, children Vincent and Zarak, grandchildren Dorian and Elisha, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loved ones.

Marvina leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured simply by the number of years she lived. Her legacy lives on in the family she helped build, the lives she touched, the lessons she shared, and the love she gave so freely along the way.

Her memory will continue through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, friends, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know and love her.

Although Marvina is no longer with us physically, she will forever remain a part of us. She lives on in the stories we tell, the memories we share, the lessons we carry with us, and the love she placed in our hearts.

A mother’s love does not end when she leaves this world. It becomes part of the people she loved, carried forward from one generation to the next.

Rest peacefully, Marvina.

You were deeply loved, you will be greatly missed, and you will never be forgotten.
