Obituary

Marscha Sue Chandler, 77, of Columbus, Ohio transitioned peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2026. She was the youngest of ten children born on February 23, 1949 to Wilda and Willis Harris.

A graduate of Central High School, Marscha dedicated much of her life to caring for her family and her home. In 1970, Marscha married Bobby Chandler, Sr. They were lovingly married for over 50 years.

Marscha was the proud mother of five children, grandmother of eight, and great-grandmother of nine. Family was at the heart of her life, and she treasured the time she spent creating memories with those she loved.

Marscha was also known for her kindness and compassion as a caregiver to neighborhood children, welcoming them with the same warmth and care she gave her own family.

Marscha found joy in the simple things in life. She loved shopping with her sisters, spending time gardening, was an amazing cook, enjoyed attending concerts and cabarets, and a dedicated OSU football fan. Her loving nature, friendship, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marscha is survived by her sister, Janice Weatherspoon(James), a host of nieces and nephews and beloved family friends, her children, Bobbette Chandler, Bobby Chandler, Chad Chandler, Chandra Chandler and Brent Chandler; eight grandchildren, Darius (Sasha) Chandler, Ariauna (Larry) Chandler-Jacobs, Essence (Donzel) Chandler, Amber Chandler, Elyshia Chandler, Jaden Kendrick, Paisley and Jamie Chandler; nine great grandchildren, Layla, Erynn, Amyre, Elijah, Mahari, Donzel, Jr., Zara, Joel and Honest; brother in laws, John White and Wallace Chandler; sister in laws, Olivia Harris and Marguerite Hearns.

Marscha leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many family members, friends, and neighbors whose lives she touched.

She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.
