Marion Clarence Hightower, Jr

Deacon Marion Clarence Hightower Jr. was born in Salem, Alabama on August 25, 1941 to the late Glennie Mae and Marion Clarence Hightower Sr. Marion went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday May 12, 2020 at his home after a long battle with PSP – Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

Marion graduated from Wacoochee High School class of 1960 where his singing career began “Rock and Robin - Tweet A Leet – Leet - Leet”

Marion was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love his life Alma Williams on July 20, 1963 for 57 years and from that union they had 4 children: Lynn, Tammy, Angela and Amy “the oops baby”.

Marion Loved “all” sports including Indy 500. Marion loved cars preferably “FORDS”. Marion loved Diet Coke was a super-duper sweet mouth… “chocolate covered peanuts, raisins along with cakes, pies”. Marion loved his wife, children and grandchildren and was a wonderful provider making sure that all of the bills were paid and paid on time.

Marion infamous quote “Your Day Is Coming” and was also known as “Uncle Bunchie and Buster. Marion was preceded in death by his mother, Glennie Mae Hightower; father, Marion C. Hightower Sr., brother’s John Hightower, Dennis Hightower and his only son Lynn Bernard Hightower.

Marion was a very devoted and dedicated Deacon @ the Union Tabernacle Church of God where he was a member of the male chorus and was one of the lead singers “People Get Ready and Down through the years”

Marion worked for Capital Manufacturer as a dedicated worker for over 35 years retiring as a Foreman.

Marion will be sorely missed and leaves to cherish his memories forever his loving wife of 57 years Alma Hightower; children, Tammy (Thomas) Douglas, Angela (Darryll) Banks and Amy Hightower; grandchildren, Chaunta Banks, Darryll Banks Jr., Winston Hightower, Marsian “mut” Gardner; Thomas Douglas , Durell Douglas, Tabrielle Douglas and Gabrielle Douglas; daughter in law, Char Hightower, brother in laws Willie N. (Maxine) Williams Jr., Jack (Barbara) Williams, and Joe Turner; sister in laws Anne Hightower, Shirlene Berry, Esther Miles, Myrtis Hightower and Airlene Eiland. “The next Generation of Hightower’s” Sylvia Hightower-Skipper, Glenn Hightower, Tony Hightower, Derick Hightower, Johnathan Hightower, and LaKeith “Tory” Hightower and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
