With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Marie Bester, who departed this earthly life on June 5, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 90. Marie was born on February 13, 1936, in Jones County, Mississippi, to the late Lula Mae Jones McAdoo and Clement McAdoo. She was raised with strong values of faith, compassion, and service that remained the foundation of her life.

Marie was united in marriage to the late John Henry Bester, and together they built a loving family rooted in faith, resilience, and devotion. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose love knew no bounds. Marie leaves to cherish her precious memory her children: Carolyn, Clemie, Gloria, Robert, and Edward (Gail) Bester; her brother, Frank (Evelyn), grandchildren Mark (Tasha), Terence (Keya), Skylar (Diamond), Cornelius, Tina, Labarron (Keyshee), Frank (Leia), Tasha, Chasity (Ron), Ebony, Alan, Wesley, Clemie Jr., Clemie Jr., Kamara, Robert Jr., Sean, Dez, Edward, Tayla, Taylon, and Takeia; along with a host of 23 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Henry Bester; Her daughter Francine Bester, her parents, Clement McAdoo and Lula Mae Jones McAdoo; brothers Johnnie (Sarah) McAdoo, Willie (Jeanie) McAdoo, and Henry (Christine) McAdoo; and sisters Minnie Lee and R.J. Keys.

Marie was known for her generous spirit, unwavering faith, and kind heart. Cooking was her passion, and nothing brought her greater joy than preparing meals for family and friends. Her kitchen was a place of love, laughter, and fellowship, where everyone was welcomed and nourished.

A deeply spiritual woman, Marie loved the Lord and lived her life as a reflection of His grace. She believed in helping others without hesitation and was known for giving more than she had. If someone was in need, Marie was always ready to lend a hand, offer a meal, share a prayer, or provide words of encouragement. Her selflessness, compassion, and genuine concern for others touched countless lives. Marie was truly one of God's angels on earth. Her warmth, generosity, and steadfast faith will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. While her presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, service, and devotion to family and faith will continue for generations to come.

Marie has now been called home to rest in the loving arms of her Savior, where she is reunited with those who have gone before her and where she will dwell in eternal peace.



Friends will be received for Visitation at Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Service at 1370 East Main Street Columbus, Ohio 43205 on Wednesday, June 17th, 2026 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am, followed immediately by Funeral Services.

Burial will process to EastLawn Cemetery.
