Margaret Emma Jordan Knott, a native of Petersburg, Virginia, peacefully departed this life on January 17, 2026.
Born to the late Hugh and Beatrice Jordan, Margaret was the youngest of four siblings: Alice, William (Tucker), and Edwin.
She graduated from Peabody High School and attended Virginia Union before leaving to get married. After moving to Columbus, Ohio, Margaret worked for and retired from the United States Postal Service.
Margaret had a love for music and possessed a beautiful singing voice. Her playful nature and infectious laugh endeared her to everyone. She was a beautiful, remarkable woman full of wisdom, strength, courage, class, and grace, with a fierce love for her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, William (Carol) Knott; her granddaughter, Brianna Knott; her niece/goddaughter whom she helped raise, Doreece Dandridge; nieces Leslie Williamson and Lisa Jordan; nephews Wayne Dandridge, Ernest (Debra) Dandridge, Michael Dandridge, Randall (Debra) Jordan, David (Cathy) Jordan, Paul Jordan; and a host of great nieces and nephews, as well as family friends.
A private graveside service will be held for family and friends to commemorate and celebrate her life.
