Marcella Ursula 'Marse' (Cowan) Wilks

Marcella Ursula Wilks, age 86, born September 11, 1930 in Columbus, OH, departed this life on April 29, 2017 at her residence. A lifetime member of Hosack Street Baptist Church, Marcella attended Columbus Public Schools, retired from OSU Dodd Hall after 30 years of service, and later volunteered at the Hilltop Civic Council Food Pantry. Predeceased by husband, Samuel Lee Wilks, parents Raymond and Ollie B. Cowan, siblings, Dorothy Hill and William Burks, granddaughter Ragon Wilks, and mother-in-law Carrie Wilks. Survived by son Samuel K. Wilks; daughter Diana Lynn Brown (Shawn Collins); sisters, Imogene Wilborn of Dayton, OH, and Frances (William) Smith; grandsons, Singin Wilks (Kristin Sprankle), Devin Brown (LaPaula Hubert), Deland (Ebony) Brown, and Todd (Farrah) Brown; great grandchildren, Tayler Honey, Maleah Young, Spencer, Sy, and Rosalie Wilks, Daneya, Ana, and Raegan Brown, Tajahnae Brown, and Todd Brown, Jr.; daughter-in-law Janet Wilks; brother-in-law Herbert (Linda) Wilks; sisters-in-law, Naomi Wilks and Elizabeth Burks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends including Curtis Johns, Thecla Graves, Sharon Robinson, and Dale Sharp.
