Mrs. Mandy Lou Holland, affectionately known also as “Lil Girl and Dreama”, was born July 23, 1932, in Griffin, Georgia. She was the first heavenly blessing of five children born from the union of Eddie Hutcherson, Sr. and Ida Lou Hutcherson. On August 5, 1949, she was united in matrimony to William J. Holland and from this union they were blessed with three lovely and devoted children. She was a longtime member of Traveler’s Rest Baptist Church, where she attended faithfully and served on the Usher Board until her health began to decline. A devoted wife and mother, taking care of her home and family is what Mandy Lou lived for. She was loved by so many and will be missed deeply. She always had words of wisdom to share and they almost always ended with “That’s what Mother used to say; I didn’t know what Mother meant then, but I do know now.” After that, she would say, “Just Keep Livin.” Anyone who knew her, knew she spoke her mind and didn’t bite her tongue. She would say, “if you tell all your business…you ain’t got no business!” She had a heart of gold and a contagious laugh that would fill a room. Mandy Lou was the super glue that held the family together. On Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the age of 84, Mandy Lou departed this life while at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Eddie Doc Hutcherson, Jr. Those who remain to cherish many wonderful memories of Mandy Lou include her three children, Willie James Holland, Sr. (Sandra Brady), James Ed Holland, Sr. (Sandi), and Mandy Renee “Tweet” Holland (James Shelton); siblings, Alfred “Hut/Son” (Mattie) Hutcherson, Homer Lee “The Baby” (Kathy) Hutcherson, and Lucy Mae “Sis/Peony” Holland of Griffin, Georgia; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
