Lucy Virginia Nowling Binion was born on January 18, 1912 to Mary Spratley and Clarence Nowling Sr. in Charleston, WV to a family of 10 children. After attending Boyd High School, she eventually married and had one son. Upon moving to Columbus, she remarried Willie Binion. Prior to retirement, she worked at several different Columbus area department stores as a housekeeper. She is survived by 2 siblings and 2 grandchildren.
