Linda "Pat" Funderburg

Linda Patricia “Pat” Funderburg was born on July 16, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio. She departed this life on July 5, 2025 at the age of 75.
Preceded in death by her husband, Ron I. Funderburg and parents, James A. and Myrtle E. Williams.

Pat graduated from South High School in 1967. She married her soulmate, Ron, in 1978 in New Haven, Connecticut.

As a loving sister and auntie, she leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Marilyn Brown, who she affectionately called “Mahlon.” Though, unable to have children of her own, Pat shared a very special loving bond with all of her nieces and nephews, Stacey (Charles) Wilson, Angela Brown, Brian King, Joshua (Mayci) King, DeShawn Williams, Kiera Sills, Courtney (Tina) Sills, Ennis (Jodell) Funderburg, Joshua (Keisha) Boyd, Jason (Ashley) Boyd, Dean and Drew (Nichole) Funderburg, Daesha, Camerin, Arren, Mehlia and Mehki as well as a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Pat loved dance and exercise and founded “Pat Funderburg’s Exercise to Afro-Rhythms.” Pat studied fitness and sports management at Columbus State Community College, and liberal arts at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut. She was a certified group exercise instructor and taught group fitness courses for Central Community House and Community Properties of Ohio (CPO Impact) and was a fitness consultant to the Central Ohio Diabetes Association.

Pat was loved by friends and family and always talked about how important her family was to her. She was an exceptional person and spirit. Her absence will be felt forever by all who loved her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am with a Funeral Service immediately following at Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Service, 1370 East Main Street Columbus, Ohio 43205. Burial will process to Greenlawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
