Obituary

On August 25, 2026, at 70 years of age, Lawrence Wyman Freeman made his exit from this life into eternal rest.  Born July 19, 1956 to Mae Elizabeth Freeman-Rogers and Lawrence W. Freeman, Sr., he attended Warren Western Reserve graduating with the class of 1974 and served in the U.S. Military.

Lawrence played bass guitar and was a member of a group in California.  He has a beautiful signing voice and sang back up vocals for some popular R&B groups including the whispers.  When he transplanted to Ohio, he met his wife Cassandra, and they became overcomers.  He often said he inherited a whole family  that loved and embraced him and was blessed.

Lawrence absolutely adored his wife.  His greatest joy outside of his burgeoning relationship with the Lord, was making her happy.  He loved the church, serving , Western movies, and every member of his family.

Preceded in death by his parents, Mae E. Freeman-Rogers and Lawrence W. Freeman Sr; brothers Warren E. Freeman Sr., and John R. Freeman, sister Bridgette Freeman; father and mother-in-law, Roberta Allen, and his great grandson, Ashton Lavell Walker.

Lawrence is survived by his wife Cassandra Star Allen-Freeman, stepdaughter, Dawn Elizabeth Allen, stepsons, William and Roger Allen, sisters-in-law, Ginger Allen, Paula Allen, Theresa (Scott) Tipton, Teresa (Kenneth) Leigh, Elizabeth Towns, special friends Kenny Tibbs, Susan Corpening, and Billie Cameron and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews and beloved friends.

Lawrence loved life and was appreciative of every moment.  He was cognizant of making everybody feel how much he loved them when they were in his presence.  If there is anything you can carry on from him into legacy, it should be to make sure you let people know every moment that they are valued, they are loved, and they are necessary.
