Katherine Mccain-Lipsey

Katherine McCain-Lipsey, was born February 10,1925 in Columbus, OH; and passed away quietly in her home surrounded by family Monday, December 12, 2016. She was educated by the Columbus Public School System at Central High School, and had been a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church for more than 20 years. Katherine had been employed by The Ohio State University Hospital for over 25 years until her retirement, and was a foster mother with Franklin County. Katherine was predeceased by the love of her life, husband Willie Lipsey, Sr.; sons, Lennell (Buster) Childs, Jr.; James Lee Childs and Karl Wayne Hinkle; son-in law, Donald G. Coulter; parents, Tony and Maude Harrell; brothers, Joseph, Ralph, Leon, Tony, Rupert and Wayman Harrell; grandchildren, Tony Span, Tina Childs, William Lamar Jones, Lennell Walton and Frankie Childs; great-grandchildren, Kendalyn Gore and Terrico Henry. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters and caregivers, Merlene Coulter, Vanitia (Curtis) Turner, and foster daughter, Roszella Vaughn, stepson, Willie (Equilla) Lipsey, Jr.; sisters, Elnor Harris, Martha Jean Davis, and Joann (Tommy) Baitey; widowed sisters-in-law, Pat, Ann and Katherine Harrell; very special niece, Marvina Johnson; and close friend of 70 years, Gustavas Biggs. Katherine also has 30 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and 10 great–great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
