JUANITA EDNA JONES SHEPHERD was born on January 21, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Roscoe and Willie E. Jones. She was the youngest of eight siblings. Juanita peacefully departed this life on Monday, February 20 in the loving care of Kindred Trans Care Rehab-Winchester, Canal Winchester, Ohio. Noon and Noonie as she was affectionately called by family became a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at an early age under the pastorate ofthe late Rev. H.W. Patterson. At age 19, Noonie married the late Robert Shepherd. In her younger years, she played softball at the Playground a south side community center. She loved baseball, card games, TV soap operas and tabloids, and entering Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes; entering year after year and hoping she would be the million dollar sweepstakes winner. Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her eight siblings Furman, Howard Hammie, John C. “Ace”, Walter Dockey, William Pete, Columbus, Mattye and Elizabeth “Libble”. Left to cherish her memory are nephews and nieces, John C. Jones, Steve (Nancy) Jones, Furman Jones, Joyce Jones (Eugene) Ray, Janice Jones, Joanie Jones Reynolds, Peggy Jones Cleveland, Gerri Hill Malone, Cornell (Rhonda) Shepherd, Welborn (Charmon) Shepherd, Darlene Shepherd Golden, Mark Warner, Kevin Chandler, dear longtime friends Jennie, Phyllis and Sissy Williams and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
