Jossie Mae Prewitt was born June 26, 1928 to Mrs. Annie Blanche Gilbert and Van Cannon, in Cleveland, Ohio. Jossie was united in holy matrimony with Master Sergeant T.S. Prewitt, and together, they traveled extensively around the world and back. They eventually settled in Columbus, Ohio, where they raised their three sons. Jossie lived her life for her family and wanted for nothing. The things that brought a smile to her face, where so simple - sharing a laugh with her husband, or a call or visit from her cherished family members and loved ones. Jossie departed this earthly life on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at her longtime residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.S. Prewitt, parents, Annie and Van, sister Lois Hailey of Cleveland, Ohio, and brother Maxie Cannon, Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio. Left to cherish the memories of Jossie are her sons, Timothy Prewitt, Kenneth Prewitt, and Michael Prewitt; daughter Andrea Prewitt Anderson; grandchildren, Ayeisha Prewitt, Isaiah Prewitt, and Joel Prewitt; great granddaughter Kaniya Swanson; sisters whom she loved so much, Bernice M. Clinton of Brooklyn, New York and Frances J. Darby of Rockford, Illinois; brother William Gilbert of Athens, Alabama; nieces, Jacqueline, Debra, and Michelle; nephew Jerome; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends all over the world. We Love You, Mama.
