It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Josephine V. Davis-Dotstry, who departed this life on June 14, 2026, at the age of 65, with loved ones by her side.
Born on June 6, 1961, in Washington, Georgia, Josephine was known throughout her life for her kindness, strength, compassion, and unwavering love for family and friends. Her warm spirit and generous heart touched everyone she encountered.
Josephine dedicated more than three decades of service to the State of Ohio as a Human Resources professional. She was also an active member of the Trojan MC, where she forged lifelong friendships and meaningful connections through her commitment to both her career and community. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, and creating cherished memories with loved ones and even those she had only just met. Her ability to make people feel welcomed, valued, and loved was one of her greatest gifts.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Mable Rusher; her mother, Sarah L. Rusher; her father, Willie Davis Sr.; and her older brother, Elfago Davis.
Josephine's legacy lives on through her devoted husband, Rozell Dotstry Jr.; her son, Juan (Chayla) Lampkins; her stepchildren, Derrick and Rozell; her sister, Louise (Gregory) Davis-Stoveall; her brother, Willie Davis Jr.; her bonus daughter, Rozalyn Pettus; and a cherished circle of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that Josephine's legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on through all who knew and loved her. Her memory will remain a source of strength, inspiration, and comfort for generations to come.
Details regarding memorial services will be shared at a later date. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating a life well lived and a woman deeply loved.
"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day."
Forever loved, forever remembered, forever missed.
