Joan Jeffries was born on December 10,1942 to the late Cosby and Cleaora Jeffries, the second youngest of 14 siblings who all proceeded her in death. Joan was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the proud mother of two daughters, Angela Jeffries and Sharita Hill, and her great-niece Bridgette Smith whom she raised.
Joan Jeffries was a dedicated worker for Madonna Hall Nursing Home and when it closed its doors in 2000, she continued her career at Eliza Bryant where she retired in 2009.
Joan was an avid reader and could always be found with a book in her hands. She will be most remembered for her kind and gentle spirit and her fun-loving nature. Her laughter will be greatly missed. She will be remembered for her famous sayings, “hey little lost child” whenever company would stop by, and after a good laugh she would always say , “I’m giving you memories” and those memories will sustain us in her absence.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Angela Jeffries and Sharita Hill, her son in law James Hill, her grandchildren Taylor, Seth and Nicholas Hill; her Great-niece Bridgette Smith, husband Tarrence Smith and children Zavien, Zariah and Zaiden; and her niece Cleaora Jeffries along with a host of family and friends.
