Joan Paulette Hall-Gray

October 3, 1952 — March 30, 2021

In memory of Joan Paulette Hall-Gray with "light and love" forever.

Our beloved Joan received her wings on March 16, 2021 in Columbus, Ohio at the tender age of 68.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 3, 1952.  She lived in Detroit, Michigan until she moved to Ohio in 1986.

Joan leaves us to cherish her happiness, joy, love and peace.  She embraced those she loved far and near with her surviving beloved biological sons Ronald B Gray Jr and Jason O Gray; adoptive daughter Tasha Nelson and grandson Honoré L Hazeur IV who called her Momma Joan; six brothers: Charles Hall (Lucille); Robert Rogers Jr (Margret); Michael Rogers (Cookie); Andre (Shirley) Hall; Antwan Hall; Arness Rogers (Brigette) and six sisters: Charlotte (Christopher) Buck; Brenda (Ike) Mack; Ollie Edwards; Deborah Harris; Vanessa Harris;  Lacetia (John) Walker;  the Gray’s surviving family members Theodore (Ted) Gray and Keith Gray.  Momma Joan is also survived by many in-laws, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her late husband Ronald Gray Sr., mother Mildred Rogers, Charles E Hall Sr. (father), Robert L Rogers Sr (stepfather), Mr. and Mrs. Gray (in-laws) Cassandra Hall-Mixon (sister) and Jalon Nelson (adoptive grandson).

Joan graduated from Southeastern High School in 1970 and was voted Queen.  She mesmerized you with her elegance and intellectual appeal yet a woman who was highly regarded amongst her teammates in tennis and field hockey.  An agreeable woman who rocked the boat with her presence exuding femininity amongst any crowd.

Joan was a current member at World Harvest Church and was baptized in Oct 1992.  She worked for Huntington National Bank for 25 years and Macy’s Menswear part-time for over 15 years touching so many people lives with her soft, pleasing and gentle demeanor.

Joan’s cocoa heart-shaped face, wavy grey tresses, brown almond eyes and gentle smile is what we were blessed to capture and cherish in our hearts for eternity.

Never forget: You got people.  Especially me.
