James Smith Sr

James T. Smith Sr., 86, went home to be with the Lord, peacefully, July 3, 2012, at home, surrounded by family and friends. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend. He coached little league football and baseball and was Superintendent of Sunday School and Deacon of the church. He was a World War II veteran and a retired employee of the Ohio State University in Building Maintenance. He was married to Mary Ellen Smith for 52 years. Preceded in death by parents Walter and Rosie Smith; sisters Rosie, Clementine, Frances, Josephine, Fannie; brothers, R.J. and Charles. Survived by wife, Mary Ellen; children, James T. (Betty) Smith Jr., Dana (Bernie) Mosley and Walter Smith; grandchildren, James Smith III, Christopher Mosley, Raquel Mosley, Sheena Mosley, Jeremaine Jennings, Lena Smith and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Sherman, Christine Twiggs, Ecclesiastes (Robert) Bowie and Cornelia (Ronald) Morris and a host of other relatives and friends.
