James Arthur Mcgowan

James A McGowan, Jr. of Dayton, OH, was born in Houston TX on November 27, 1924. He resided in Columbus, OH with family for the past 7 years. James served in the U.S. Army where he fought for his country in WWII. He retired from the U.S. Post Office after many years of service. He was a Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge member of Equity 121, Dayton, OH. James was an awarded advent bowler. On May 19, 2019, James passed away peacefully. He is preceded in death by his wife of many years, Lois E McGowan, father and mother James A McGowan, Sr. and Bessie Lee, brother Ernest Teamer, granddaughter Indi Chapple, and niece Muriel Croomes. He leaves to cherish his memory, sister, Muriel Murray of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Darro Edgington, Clifford Edgington, Marshall Edgington, Darnell (Ginny) Edgington, Sonya Edgington-Chapple, Regina Westbrook, Lafayette Westbrook Sr, Marjy Parrault of Florida, Kim (Robin) Talley; special nephew, William Childs, Jr of Dayton, Ohio; God-granddaughter, Shikira Jacobs; many great-grands, nieces, nephews, and special friend, Alice (Toni) Ripley.
