On January 31, 2017 God reached down and plucked the most beautiful flower from his vast garden. Gwen Evans was chosen by God to complete his bouquet of flowers. Gwen, was born May 17, 1936 in Columbus, OH to Fred Free and Mary Hill. She attended Columbus Public Schools, and a graduate of Columbus East High. She attended the Business School at The Ohio State University. Gwen, worked at The Defense Supply Construction Center (DISCO) for 27 years and served as the Administrative Secretary for Bishop Michael Dickerson for until her health would not allow her to service. She was an active member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church for over 40 years. She was a member of the Guiding Light Guild, The Bishop Anniversary Ministry and anything her hands could find to do at Ebenezer (nothing was too small for her to do). She was Preceded in death by her Parents, Son, Charles E. Evans III, Sister, Carole J. Craver, Grandson, Jerimiah E. Hairston, Brother-n laws, Alonzo Carter and Charles W. Gray and Sister in law Dorothy Gray. She leaves to cherish her memory, Her Husband Charles E. Evans, Jr. (for 62 Years), Children, Mark Evans, Brian (Anna) Evans, Stacy (Robert) Williams, Tracey (Michael) Hairston, Sister Lenora Carter Grandchildren, Mark Evans, Jr. Matthew Evans, Marlon (Jocelynn) Evans, Brian Evans, Jr. Robert Williams Jr. and James (Jovonda) Hariston, Great Grandchildren, Kristiana Evans, Kali Evans, Kalyse Evans, Jaylon Evans, Jerimiah E. Hairston and a host of other nieces, nephew, cousins Church members and friends.
