Obituary

It is with a full heart that we honor the life of a remarkable man. Glen Franklin Booker, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1st, 2026. Glen was born on August 30 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio. Glen was a loving Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather who really enjoyed spending time with his family. Glen loved talking and reminiscing about the “good ole days” involving his beloved Cousins Hugh (Dicky), Pablo, Greg, and Uncle Tony growing up in Cleveland in their early years together. Glen later moved to Columbus,Ohio where he graduated from Marion Franklin High School and was a standout defensive back on the football team, eventually earning him a scholarship to Waldorf College in Iowa. Upon returning home on summer break Glen met the love of his life, Rosemary Hedrick, who eventually became Rosemary Booker in 1972 and they remained happily married for 54 years before his passing. Every love story is beautiful but theirs is a testimony to true love. He was a source of protection, encouragement, and unconditional support. Together Glen and Rosemary raised their children Lamonte, Lamar, Tammy, and David in Columbus. To his children he was a compass. He listened, imparted life lessons, encouraged more than he criticized, and believed deeply in the goodness of people. His children grew up knowing that they were loved not for what they achieved, but for who they were. Glen also demonstrated his faith by consistently trying to uphold the core principles of faith, by the way he lived his life.

Early in his career he was a highly skilled welder at Wasserstrom. Glen eventually retired as a dispatcher for the City of Columbus, Division of Electricity. Some of Glen’s hobbies over the years included animated drawings, photography, drone flying and videography. Glen was a self taught handyman, who was able to build or fix anything that was presented to him. If you sat with him for any length of time he was going to impart some of his wisdom, and knowledge. Glen had an infectious laugh and enjoyed an occasional two step on the dance floor every now and again.

Glen Franklin Booker, is preceded in death by his parents Dorothy L. Obey, James Edward Booker, Aunts, and Uncles

Glen is survived by the love of his life, Rosemary Booker, his Sisters Marcia Taylor and Kym Donaldson children Lamonte (Beth), Lamar (Kiara), Tamara, David (Damica) daughter in law Kim grandchildren Lamar (Neisha) Kiara, Nia , Isaiah , David, Joseph, Matthew, and Phoenix 4 great grandchildren, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family friends who he dearly loved.

Though he is no longer with us, his lessons remain in every memory we hold, and every value he passed on. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
