George Blake Sr

George C. Blake, age 86, went home to the Lord Friday, January 28, 2011; he was born January 21, 1925. A U.S. Army veteran, he served his country in WWII as a member of the 761st Tank Battalion, was awarded the Silver Star, and was inducted into the Ohio Military Hall of Fame on May 28, 2008. A 32nd Degree Mason, he was a member of St. Mark’s Lodge No. 7, F AM; and Alla Baba Temple No. 53. He was also a member of the Worthington Chapter of the VFW. He was a truck driver by trade. George was predeceased by his father, George; mother, Martha; brothers, Henry and Harold; daughter, Nancy; and stepdaughter, Barbara Allen. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Florence (Ms. B); children, George, Jr. (Alice); Russ (Lorna), Ronald, Arlene, and stepson, Dwight Allen; a sister, Mary (Bud) Walker, sister-in-law, Della Blake; mother of his children, Rachel; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
