Geneva Carson Pass

June 27, 1913 — February 8, 2019

Born on June 27, 1913 in Chattanooga, TN, Geneva Carson Pass entered the world as one of 13 children born to the late Arter D. and Nancy J. Ellis Steward.  She grew up in Ironton, OH, and upon graduating from Ironton High School, Geneva became a lifelong resident of Columbus, OH.

Geneva joined Macedonia Baptist Church in 1969 and remained an active, faithful member until her passing.  She attended church consistently and was ever present for bible study and meetings throughout the week.  Geneva loved the word of God and had a gift for teaching which led her to teach the Women’s Sunday School.  She and her students talked about the Lord weekly and applied the tenets of the Bible to their every day lives.

Over the years, she served as a deaconess, member of the choir, and the mother of the church.  As an intercessor, she interceded on behalf of church members, family and friends alike.  She greatly appreciated the love she received from her Macedonia church family.

Her parents, Arter D. and Nancy J Ellis Steward preceded her in death along with her husbands, Charles preceded her in death.  In that she remained as the last surviving member of her generation, all 12 of Geneva’s siblings preceded her in death. She left behind a host of family and friends including her closest confidants, Beverly and Big Momma.
