Frank Matthews Jr

Frank Matthews, Jr., age 86, was born on June 19, 1930 and went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at his residence. He was a graduate of East High School, and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of International F. A.M. Masons and Order of Eastern Star, which he joined in 1977. He was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church, and later became a charter member of Faith Ministries Church. He retired from the Columbus Department of Refuse. Preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Joann Matthews; father, Frank Matthews, Sr.; mother, Mattie Matthews; brother, Albert Matthews; sisters, Donna Jean Brunson, Joann Edwards and granddaughter, Sherri Matthews. Survived by daughters, Monica Long, Darlene Matthews, Sheila Freeman; son, Frank (Natalie) Matthews; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; devoted caregiver and friend, Joyce Wilson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
