Sgt. Edward “Skeet” Hairston, Jr., (Retired Army), age 80, departed this life on Saturday, June 18, 2016 while a resident at Winchester Place Nursing Center in Canal Winchester, OH. Edward was a former resident of McDowell County, WV, and attended schools there before joining the army. The first born child of John E. and Mattie E. (Dillard) Hairston, Edward was predeceased by his parents and daughter LaDonna M. White. Edward leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Linda F. (Hudson) Hairston; sons, Claude Jackson, Sr., John Rutledge, and stepson Jeffrey Anthony; stepdaughter Anika Anthony; brother Caleb (Sinara) Hairston; sisters, Carolyn Ellis, Linda Saunders, and Agnes Lofton; 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; aunt Georgia Raymore; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
