Earlene Elaine Elder

March 27, 1954 — September 17, 2019

Earlene Elaine Elder (Foster), passed peacefully at her residence, Tuesday September 17, 2019. Born to Alex (Sonny) Foster and Josephine (Madear) Fultz-Jones in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on March 27, 1954. She spent her early years in her birthplace, later moving to Mansfield, Ohio for many years meeting the love of her life Maurice C. Elder II until reaching her final residence in Columbus, Ohio in 1976 where she earned her degree from Columbus Technical Institute. Earlene had a long career with American Electric Power and later Grant Hospital. Earlene was a fiery, independent, loving, devoted Mother, Nana, Sister, Daughter, Tee, Sister in Christ, Friend and Encourager. The love which radiated from her can only be described as infectious, emboldened faith adorned her as armor to approach all aspects of life’s challenges she encountered. She loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ up until God wrapped his arms around her and whispered, come take your rest. Family was most important her love for her brothers and sisters was undeniable. The bond shared between them had no boundaries they were always there for one another no matter what. She cherished family celebrations and was known as the family photographer. She beamed with pride and joy when speaking of her grandchildren. They were one of the many things she enjoyed most in life. When spending time with them she could always be seen tucked in a corner sharing her knowledge and life wisdom. Earlene knew no strangers and loved helping others in their time of need. She gave of herself never asking for anything in return, only that whomever she helped would know they were loved and valued as a person. Her other joys in life were gardening, listening to music, being outdoors with nature and reading especially the bible. She loved learning and always wanted to find understanding in every detail. Earlene had a great sense of humor and didn’t mince words, you could always expect a direct quick witty response whether you asked for it or not, but always in love. Proceeded in death by parents, Alex Foster and Josephine Fultz-Jones, Siblings: Patricia Foster Hawkins Givens, Ronald Foster and Michael Foster. Left to cherish her amazing memory are her loving Daughters: Sha’Ronda Foster, Maureen (Sean) Grant and Grandchildren, Miles Cervi, Mason Cervi, Alexis Walker and Sean Walker, Brothers: Larry (Angela) Foster, Sebastian (Cheryl) Foster, Sisters: Lynda Lavender, Niki (Susan) Foster, Holly (John) Dunn, Sister in Law: Aletha Foster She also leaves a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
