Cynthia Mcqueen 'Queenie' Johnson

Cynthia M. Johnson, 62, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015, in Westerville surrounded by family and friends. She was born December 16, 1952, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, daughter of late John McQueen and Katie Buie. An ambitious learner, she graduated from Hampton University with a B.A. in Psychology in 1974, and obtained her M.A. in Education from The Ohio State University in 1975. Education brought her to Columbus where she met, William B. Johnson Sr., whom she married in 1975. Cynthia served as a Psychologist, Educational Clinic Administrator, and Superintendent at the Ohio State School for the Blind for over 30 years. She was a very active member in the Presbyterian Church, serving on numerous committees, including Session and the Choir. She was also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as well as Jack and Jill of America. Preceded in death by her husband; Survived by children, brothers/sisters-in-law, aunts, nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins.
