Carrie Brooks Wilson

April 9, 1936 — October 12, 2018

Carrie Brooks Wilson A.K.A Girlfriend, was born on April 9th 1936 in Chambers County, Alabama to the late  Mr. Woody Brooks Sr and Mrs. Carrie Heard Brooks.  "Girlfriend" was the youngest of 13 children, and the last one left until God called her home. She graduated high school and college and worked as an elementary substitute teacher for some years. She relocated to Columbus Ohio about 55 years ago and began working at Lucent Technologies for 35 years before retiring. Girlfriend was a very loving and caring women. She raised all her grand kids and also had a major role in all her sister's and brother's children's lives to. Her love was unconditional and she was truly one of a kind. Carrie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years Jessie Wilson; son Michael Wilson;  her 12 siblings and her brother-in-law Jack Wilson Sr. Carrie is survived by her two daughters Jennifer (Emanuel) Otchere, Beverly Coleman. Grandma children LaShawnda Wilson, Lakeya Cleveland, Lakisha Jefferson, Larry L.A. Wilson,  Jevon WilsonSr, Keon (Tamara) Sharp and Richard Sharp. Great grandchildren Antwonne Simon Jr, Jaden Lewis, Amarion Keith, Jevon Wilson Jr. Amira Ayers, Amiyah Ayers and Jael Jefferson.  Special sister in law Shirley Wilson.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Her final resting place will be in the St. John Cemetery of Lanette, Alabama
