Carolyn Jean Lewis, 82, of Columbus, Oh, earned her reward Thursday, June 26, 2025, at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center.
She was born June 21, 1943 at home in McIntyre, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Helen West.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Paul Lewis, her son Paul Lewis and daughter Pamela Lewis, siblings George Toney, Jerry Washington, Bonita Dokes, Janice Hilson and step children Terrance Lewis and Rhonda Cassels.
Carolyn attended Wayne High School in Bloomingdale.
She was a foster parent for many years. She loved reading her bible and listening to gospel music.
She also loved going out to dinner on special holidays and spending time with her family. She mastered making peanut butter fudge and enjoyed making some upon request. She had a passion for floral arranging and crafting. She looked forward to Saturdays during football season to watch The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Carolyn is survived by her brother Hal (Susan) Toney, her daughter, Milena Sue (Marcus) Elliott and step children, Yolanda Jackson and Shawn Lewis. She was adored by her grandchildren Mark Anthony (Elizabeth) Long, Corey Lewis, Paul (Shaelin) Norman, Bria Lewis, Eva (Gabe) Elder and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a Funeral Service immediately following at Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Service 1370 East Main Street, Columbus, Ohio 43205. Burial will process to Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
