Carlon "Carly" Brockington, 62, of Columbus, Ohio, transitioned peacefully on August 4th, 2025.
Carlon Brockington was born on April 13, 1963, to James and Gwendolyn (Monroe) Brockington II. He was the fourth of five children. He was a graduate of Brookhaven High School. After high school, Carlon enlisted in the National Guard on 01/01/1984 until he was honorably discharged on 01/01/1998.
“Carly,” as he was known to some, loved to fish, and his smile was contagious. To know him was to love him. He loved his family and friends. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Carlon completed his earthly journey on Monday, August 4, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was in good spirits until his passing.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, John D. and Margaret S. (Johnson) Monroe, James and Ruth (Mason) Brockington, brother James “Todd” Brockington III, and nephew Blair Christian-Marcel Lester.
He leaves to cherish his memory, parents James and Gwendolyn Brockington II, sisters Belinda (Michael) Wright, Sheila (Brockington) Lester, and brother Timothy (Marie) Brockington. Aunts: Catherine (Monroe) Montgomery, Carrie Blanch (Monroe) Davis, Barbara Jean (Brockington) Monroe, Ila Maa (Brockington) Carter, Shirley (Leslie) Brockington Chever. Uncle John W. (Carolyn) Monroe.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with a Memorial Service immediately following at Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Service, 1370 East Main Street, Columbus, Ohio 43205.
