Bruce Delano Grant was born on September 27, 1950, at The Ohio State University, to Claude Edward Grant, Sr and Betty Jane Grant. He went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, at The Ohio State University Hospital East.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Betty Jane Grant; grandparents, Edward Grant and Dorothy Taylor, Jacob and Mary Elizabeth Dalton; brothers, Charles Grant, Claude Edward Grant, Jr, Michael Grant, Daryl Grand and one brother lost at birth.
He leaves behind a loving family, brother, David and Colette Grant, nieces, Gaye Ann Grant-King, Teri Grant, Billy and Joy Grant-Brooks, Gina Grant, Claude and Linda White, William and Davenna Grant-Farmer, Jaquan and Jueqetta Bickerson, and a host of other great nephews and nieces, and cousins-in-law.
In his early years, Bruce graduated from Beatty Park Elementary and Champion Junior High School, where he played on the Grey Y Championship team. He was a co-captain for the Maryland A.C. for three straight years, where the A.C.'s won the championship each of the those years, going undefeated. He went on the play linebacker for the Columbus East High School Tigers from 1968 - 1970, lettering two of the three years.
After high school, Bruce went into the work force, where he worked for KFC for over twenty years, working his way up to crew chief. He was very proud of his accomplishments and friendships he made over the years. He then went to work for Buckeye Steel castings, working 10 years without missing a day of work or being late. Bruce earned many awards for his dedication until they closed the plant. Finally, he worked for CRST Trucking Co, where he drove coast to coast, expressing the joy of seeing much of America as he went.
Before he retired, he joined The Bible Way Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. He was baptized in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ and filled with the Holy Spirit, serving on the Usher Board in the church and supporting many of the church activities.
Bruce lived a life of love and commitment to his family.
