Blaine Waderker, 79, of Columbus, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Blaine Allen Waderker known by family as “Beanie” was born on February 11,1947 in Zanesville, Ohio, to parents Gerald Blaine and Hazel Louis Waderker. Blaine grew up in the “bottoms,” of Columbus, Ohio, and graduated from Central High School, class of 1965. In 1966, Blaine decided to follow his best friend, James “Jimmy” Harris and enlisted in the United States Army during the height of the Vietnam War. Blaine was a military police officer and served for two years. Upon completion of his military service, he went to work for State Chemical and had a 25-year-long career there. While at State Chemical, he attended classes at Franklin University and State Chemical Sales Management School. After leaving State Chemical Blaine became a sales representative for Karns Meats and Dutch Creek Foods. After retirement, Blaine took on various hobbies, including traveling, gardening, attempting to play the piano, woodworking, and power walking. Blaine grew up loving all things related to trucking, following in his father’s footsteps. He also enjoyed listening to BeBe King and George Strait. Blaine loved watching Old Westerns. His favorite NFL team was the Cleveland Browns. Blaine was known as the “Mayor” of his neighborhood and would meet many of his neighbors on his various four-plus-mile walks up until the time of his illness. In 1971, Blaine was united in holy matrimony to Jacqueline Kidd and to this union were born 3 children: Kimberly Ann, Brian Allen, and Keith Allen. Blaine’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy and he was affectionately known as Dad, Grandpa, and Pops. Later in life, Blaine met Kimberly Baer, and they became lifelong partners until her death in 2024.
On April 10, 2026 Blaine made the most important decision of his life and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior What will be missed the most about Blaine is how he could make any room laugh. His quick wit and humor brought joy into the lives of all who knew him. Blaine is predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Louise, brother Jerry Wayne, son, Keith Allen, former spouse Jacqueline Betton and life long partner Kimberly Baer. Blaine is survived by his loving children, daughter, Kimberly (Elder Roderick Sr.) Peeks, son, Brian (Lisa Simon), his dearly beloved grandchildren, Porscha (Rev. Leandre) Coney, Scharese Peeks, Kyra (Min. Brandon) Mitchell, Brianna Waderker, Nichelle Peeks, Andres Waderker, Roderick Peeks, Jr., Brian Waderker, Jr., Matthew Peeks, Ariella Waderker, Jonathan Peeks, and Gerald Waderker; his precious great-grandchildren, London Coney, Mackenzie Peeks, Braxton Coney, Noah Mitchell, Gianna Baxter, Ethan Mitchell, Giovanni Baxter, and Judah Mitchell. Sister, Sherryl Waderker, nephew Lee Brooks, aunt Berma Dalton, and special sister-in-laws Marilyn Milner, Angela Caldwell, and Gail Jackson. A host of extended family members, including aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws from the Baer, Byrd, Dalton, and Kidd families.
Friends will be received for Visitation at Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Service at 1370 East Main Street Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, followed immediately by Funeral Services.
Burial will process to Green Lawn Cemetery.
