Arnold Eugene Smith, Sr.

Arnold E. Smith Sr was born in Urbancrest on  September 17, 1941 to the late Richard Sr. and Helen Smith. He gained his wings on October 2, 2021 at the age of 80 years old.

Arnold attended Grove City schools until he found his way to the horses. At the age of 14 he began working as a groom/ trainer.  He worked at Beulah Park for 50 plus years where he won multiple races. We definitely loved them Jolly Pirate doughnuts he would bring home win after win. Arnold was a fun, loving, mean old man but wouldn’t have changed him for anything! He loved his family and we loved him. We would get on his nerves but he still enjoyed our little pop ups to the house.

Arnold is preceded in death by his parents, Son Arnold E. Smith Jr and step daughter Gloria J. Simpson.  Brothers Richard and Charles Smith. Sisters Arthella Smith, Genevieve Wynn, Patrica Smith, Mona Cameron, and Ardis Peebles. A few nieces and nephews.

Arnold leaves to cherish his memories, Wife Karen Smith. Sons Donovan Simpson Sr., Arnold (Jennifer) Simpson. Daughters Vanessa Jackson, Kimberly (Micheal) Little, and Rona Rivers. Brother Leonard (Parrie) Smith. 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Honorary grand/ great grandsons Kamar Rawls and KaMáuri Rawls. Honorary great-granddaughter KyLeigh Green. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
