Anthony Lee Gay

On April 25, 1961, Anthony “Tony” Lee Gay was born to Edward L. Dumas Sr and Shirley M. Gay in Columbus, OH.   At the age of 59, he departed this life on July 29, 2020 at Mt Carmel East Hospital.

Tony received his education through the Columbus Public Schools.  At the age of 5, Tony wanted a toy microphone, instead he had gotten a real one.  That moment is when he found his calling as an “Entertainer”.   He had a love for music. He would be the DJ, play the instruments, the singer, the background singer, and the dancer.  He loved The Commodores, The Brothers Johnson, and The Temptations.  But most importantly he loved his family.  Although he never married, he enjoyed his life.  He lived by his own rules and he lived it his way “ON PURPOSE”.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward L. Dumas Sr and Shirley M. Gay; son, Jason Tyree; sister, Leah Dumas; and grand-daughter, Heaven Tyree.

Left to cherish his memory, sons, Antonio (LaTasha) , Michael (Carlotta) Gay, Scott (Tynesha) Tyree; and daughter Jasmine Tyree;  brothers, William,  Edward Jr,  Vernice, and Dominic Dumas; sisters, Sherry and Karen Dumas; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren;  host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
