Alma M. Carter unexpectedly transitioned on Sunday May 18, 2025, at The Woodlands of Columbus. Alma was born on July 29, 1919, to James and Kathryn Preston. As a child she grew up in West Virginia and was the youngest of her three siblings.
The family moved to Columbus Ohio in 1934. She met her life partner John H Carter Jr while attending East High School. After graduating high school, they were married on December 30,1939 and celebrated 51 years together until his death on June 11,1990. They raised two children: Barbara and John III.

Visitation will be held on May 27, 2025, from 11:00am to 12 noon with Funeral Service immediately following at Faith Ministries Church 2747 Agler Road, Columbus, Ohio 43224. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery.
