Orlando Anderson was born January 28, 1957 to Carter Neal and Minnie Anderson, with the help of midwife, Ruth Sanders, in Leflore County, Mississippi. He is known as Landa by his family and friends. At the age of two years old, Orlando relocated with his mother to Columbus, Ohio, and settled in what is now known as The King-Lincoln District. The family later relocated to the Linden area, where Orlando attended Hamilton Elementary School. Once he enrolled in Linmoor Middle School, he took a strong interest in Karate and eventually obtained a Black Belt. He attended Linden-McKinley High School and obtained his G.E.D. through the State of Ohio. Landa will always be remembered as a very giving person who enjoyed putting together puzzles in his spare time. Landa quietly departed at home on Wednesday, December 11, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father Carter Neal, grandfather Roosevelt Anderson, and aunts, Claudette Bay Wilson, Verlon Horton, and Viola Peaches Anderson. Orlando is survived by his mother Minnie Burst; stepfather Harry Burst; brothers, Freddy Fuzz, Nathaniel I Nate, and John; sisters, Gloria Cookie, Florence Candy, Iula Doll (James), and Harriette (David); special friends, Arnetha Lee, Robin Fisher, and Robert Butts; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
