Oneida (Slate) Cooper, age 84, went home to the Lord Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Willie Slate; sons, Gregory and Availeo Slate; daugther, Latitia Slate; and grandchildren, Paul Pace and Shanile Goggins. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, William and Gary Slate; daughters, Cynthia Slate, Jacqueline (Slate) Smith, Margaret Slate, Antoinette Brown, Benita (Kevin) Taylor, Gwendolyn (Keith Coles, and Janice Powell; 32 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
