Mildred Bernadine Williams

Once again God has seen fit to pick another flower from his garden of beautiful lives on October 19, 2017. Mildred Bernadine Williams finished her course and went to her Heavenly home. Mildred Bernadine Williams was born February 10, 1930 to Charles Edward and Dorothy A. Williams. She was the first born to seven children who were all raised in Columbus, Ohio. Mildred attended Marion Road School and was an honorary member of First Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was a member of their Mother’s Board for eleven years. She was also a member of the Hugh Garnes Memorial Club. Her first job was at Columbus Lace Cleaners. She later retired from Bron Shoes. Mildred was an outstanding athlete. She was the pitcher for Local 740’s softball team. She did extensive traveling throughout the United States. She was known to pitch a mean ball in her days. Mildred loved her family and would go out of her way for them. Her family spent quality time having family outings and watching cowboy movies. She was known for her delicious Peach Cobbler. It was “to die for”. Mildred was proceeded in death by her parents, Charles Edward and Dorothy A.; siblings, Charles, Jr., and Robert L.; and nephews, Robert L. and Tab R. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving brother, Richard C. (Sue Ann); sisters, Dorothy L. Brown, Virginia M. and Phyllis A. (Ronald F.) Allison; sister-in-law, Katherine Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews; two special nieces, Robin Brown (Caregiver), and Damiyah “My My” Brown; and special friend, Janet Childers.
